Ms. Jech is the full-time school counselor at Orchards. Ms. Jech is a National Certified Counselor and specializes in trauma and crisis response, anxiety and stress management, culturally sustaining practices, grief and loss, and students with special needs.
She loves to spend time outside with her husband and dogs, reading, and watching movies!

Hello All-Stars! My name is Mr. Payette and this will be my 13th year as a School Counselor and my 3rd year at Orchards Elementary School. I split my time between Orchards and another elementary school, so I will be at Orchards on Mondays, Thursdays, and occasional Wednesdays. I look forward to supporting students and families. Please reach out if I can be of any help.
In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dog, reading, playing golf, and going to see live music. Some new hobbies I am taking up are disc golf and houseplants.

What do school counselors do?
We work alongside teachers, staff, and parents to help students develop social-emotional, academic and career skills, and to remove any barriers our students have to learning.
We Provide:
Small-group counseling
Short-term individual counseling
Consultation with parents and teachers
Community resource referrals (including longer term therapy services)
Section 504 coordination
